Looking awesome mate... Love those Hood Louvers!!! I've been thinking of doing that on the exhaust manifold side of the new truck as well. I think you've sold me on it cause I not only like how it looks, but I know how well they help keep the under-hood/heat-soak down in the right conditions aye. Plus if they can handle PNW rain storms then they'll be fine anywhere else in the world. Trucks coming along really well... love it.

Cheers

well i got the new diffs in last week, got over 500 miles on the new gears as of yesterday, did a drain and fill f/r on them. im really liking the results, the nitros are quiet, only a slight noise at around 20mph when coming to a stop -its ever so faint and if your not listening for it you will never hear it. waiting on a new manifold from ARB for my compressor then ill have the lockers up and running.

so ARBs are working great, 488s are awesome, no complaints there. in other news i have replaced my fuel pump due to a hard start issue -would crank and crank and crank but not fire (it was a fuel issue, not spark), and then you could try it again and it would fire right up. anyhow yeah put in a new pump, a AEM supra pump made by Aeromotive ( http://www.amazon.com/AEM-50-1000-H...TF8&qid=1411592825&sr=8-1&keywords=supra+pump ) and so i eliminated that as the cause -im gonna supercharge the truck so this was gonna need to be done at some point. anyhow yeah so then i bought a new open circuit relay (fuel pump relay) and that seams to have fixed the issue. opened up the old relay and there was a lot of burn tracks on it and carbon buildup/deposits so i scrapped that off with a small screwdriver and everything else looks great on that, so im gonna put that in the drawer for a spare. while i had the tank out to replace the pump i cleaned it all out(outside) and repainted it with some epoxy paint to help seal it and keep it from getting any rust(thankfully there was no real rust to speak of other than a small area of surface rust all on the outside).

Did you do anything to the inside of the tank? I've used those a gas tank repair kit on a much older car before (late 60's), but I have no idea how old they have to be before that starts to become a problem. Just curious if you noticed any problems inside the tank.

nope, other than shop vacuum out the last remaining bit fuel, and the couple particles that were in the bottom of the tank. then i rinsed it out with water, vacuumed that out and let it set out over night. the inside looked brand new. even after 300k mi. there was only the one small spot of sufface rust on the outside from my tanks skid.

picked up a 50" curved LED bar today... got it wired in just dont have the mounts to mount it yet. its a little big -id of preferred a 46" but for the price im not gonna complain not to mention id question the quality of cheaper bars -the only way to get a 46"

its a Torton http://www.totron.com/products/dc-s...10-30v-double-row-curved-led-light-bar-detail

from my understanding pretty much all of the LED bars are coming out of one of a couple of plants in china, so they are all pretty much the same deal, sure some are owned by US companies and some are even assembled here in the US, but its all the same internals. the only other one id consider is the Vision X HPI bar at 46" but its not a curved bar, and again price... i didnt pay anywhere near retail for mine
What brand ?

I've wondered this as well. I've read numerous threads online, and there's no telling who knows what they're talking about, but much of what I've read is that the housings, boards, etc are all built in China. As you said, final assembly may take place in the US for the high-end brands (Rigid, Vision-X, etc), but they're all Chinese-made components. But I've also read people claiming that they have two equally spec'd light bars side by side on two different vehicles, one Chinese brand and one Rigid, and they swear the Rigid is noticeably brighter or better focused....so I'm not sure what to believe.

Well as soon as I get this mounted up I'll let you know my thoughts. I have a friend who has a rigid on his 4runner we can do a comparison... Side by side

well my bighorns where not giving me good results, less than 12k mi and half gone, 4+ have been out of round... i could go on but i think you get the point. so i got a set of MTRs for just over a grand including certs and install. could beat that. so far im liking them a lot. much smother, more sure footed on the hwy and more responsive in the rain. havent had them off the hard black stuff yet, but hopping soon. and lets be honest. they look cooler cause we all know its looks that really matter lol

Looks aren't everything? Maybe I'm just shallow.

Did you get 315/70/17 MT/R Kevlars? I love mine. Great tire although you may find they are also not the best to balance and wear pretty quick. Awesome offroad though, no question there.

Love this truck, lets see some more pics!

No I got 305-70-17s. Same tire I had in the maxxis bigbumps... I would have to do a good deal of trimming to fit 315s, I already rub with the 305 a little. Plus with sticking with 305 America's tire transferred my certs from the bigbumps straight across. So far the ride is 10x better and the wear can't be any worse - 50% gone in 10months, <15kmi....

Looks are everything, that's why we both have MTRs and SCS wheels, and take amazing pictures duh. And that's why our women love us, we look good!
