Another winch project has been completed and this time it's a hard to find 1970's 12v Warn 8274 in perfect mechanical condition.

This winch was taken down all the way to each individual piece then professionally built back with new parts, where needed, and sometimes where not needed.

New brake parts, oil seal, o-ring, bushings, etc and major upgrades including 3/8" USA made Dyneema (Spydura) rope rated at over 18,000lb breaking, plus an extra heavy duty thimble on the end that will fit most newer style hooks or can be used without a hook because its big enough to pass a 3/4" shackle pin through it, or a soft shackle. There's also an almost impenetrable 3ft. abrasion sleeve added that will slide to where ever you may need it.

The control box cover was replaced with a new one, along with a new remote plug socket, all new wires with marine-rated heat-shrink were made, then a sealed Albright contactor was installed in the stock box to keep the vintage look intact, so no more dealing with solenoids and their corrosion issues! New 6ft. power and ground cables were added too (USA made copper cables, of course)

This winch should last another few decades if taken care of. Don't let the 8K rating fool you, this type is winch is much more efficient than your typical planetary winch and this is why they feel so powerful and are way faster.

$1750 Pick up near LA or could ship, but that will cost a bit. ((This is almost $1000 less than a new one with syn . rope.))
