Should I sell my Taco??

Well it looks like it's a real deal for now. He lives 3 hrs south of me but is coming back up tomorrow to give me a check. He's allowing me to keep the truck an extra couple of days to make sure the check clears so the bank will release the title, and then I'll drive it down to him the middle of next week.
Now let's see if the check clears.

My wife lost her job earlier this year and now makes half of what she did. Saving $400/mo on a truck payment will be a burden lifted. But I do like my truck and hate to see it go. I honestly am looking to the future and I don't see any real economic improvement anytime soon.

Not sure if I would sell. I bought my Taco with the intention of keeping it for quite while and its only been 3.5 years.

There was another Tacoma DoubleCab at my dealer on the used lot (that bodystyles DoubleCab is a rare commodity around here). I had to ask how much $$ they were asking. I about flipped when they told me $16k for an '01 truck with 162k. I figured it would sit a while.

It was gone when I went by 2 days later.

They do have a '97 TLC with 200k on it for $7k.

I would do it ONLY IF I were financially strapped. But if I were financially strapped, I wouldn't be buying a 10+year old 80 series, either. Otherwise, you have a solid truck with many many miles of reliability. Same can't be said of the cruiser. The parts are not cheap on them, either. Remember they were $50+k trucks new. They're sweet, though, so good luck either way.
