We made a storage system in the rear. You could still sleep inside but it was tight. If doing it again we would have made it a couple inches lower.

Here is how it worked. The rear drawers were straight forward. With storage on the side, partitioned for spares on the bottom of the side storage bins. Water was in 2 tanks one in the rear quarter, and another behind the rear seat, the pump and filter was also there.
We kept the rear 2/3 seat. The was for visitors and so we had a place to sit and chill. We mad a table the fit over the front passenger seat if if the seat was laying flat. we could then hang out in the back seat, have access to the fridge and cook in side when weather was bad. The drawers and side storage made enough room for all cooking, food, clothes, spare parts and some climbing gear. We stored the tools under the rear seat good for weight forward). The only things we had on the roof were some bulky light climbing stuff and the roof tent.

That same table for hanging out was used as a foot board to cover the top of the rear seat so that you could sleep inside on top of the drawer system (hope this makes sense). this was done with simple brackets and gravity.

Having a place to hang out inside was more important than we ever expected. Not only when weather was bad, but when in a city and trying to just park and camp, you cant set up the tent and you cant cook out of the back.

We also had a ton of stuff for climbing, this made storage a major issue.

We used 500# drawer slides and an exterior plywood used for signs, 3/4" and very slick on one side- can get bthe exact name if needed.

Man, don't know wether to class that as a highball bouldering or a freaking free-solo. That's pretty high.

Yeah no crap.. I'm all for bouldering but when it gets over V2 and I'm vacilating over a 40ft deck .. your ankles will shatter. I at least use ropes Heres me leading a 2nd pitch up in NC

Ya there is a line, but it can be fun to get high as long as you are in control. I climb on a rope more than I boulder these days but both have their place. Teri is my lady friend and very strong. Cautious too, in control at all times, women have a higher sense of self preservation than men!

Are you heading to Mexico soon? There are some great climbing spots south of the border. If you like multi pitch clip-ups El Potrero Chico is awesome.

Yep a cool clean steady head will get you to the top.. most of the time

Next christmas is the tentative date. Potrero Chico is on the hit list on my way down for sure.
