thanks! will do. I actually have yet to get it out on any true trails, just the sand in the OBX and beyond the pavement out in CO. I've been aching to get out to some of the spots around here

Hey thank you Eric! It was a great little day.

Hey that's a great question..

They really don't like the weather here. I usually change them every spring. I also think it's from the wet salty roads, over night it'll freeze inside the cup, then first crank of the steering wheel it messes up the teflon inside. The steering heims last for two years. The suspension balls last for about 1.2 years.

Working on a solution would be most excellent! There's a dust shield that you can get for them but they're really not that great for moisture. Some sort of gore-tex bootie would be great. Just trying to figure out how to get it to seal up and not get ripped up from all the travel.

Tanks for the feedback! I will stick with ball joints and leave the steering alone or stock and carry spares like ball joints, etc...

Went out and tested more of the goodies the new 4Runners have to offer. Crawl control, diff lock and 4lo helped to get me out of a deep mud hole today. I also gave the wife a period of instruction on the 4Runner's gadgets and she drove the truck around with ease. Even made it up some parts that a modified Jeep had some serious trouble with.

Front tire was just a hair off the ground here. Rear tires still had contact.

Same shot, different angle.

Crawl control enabled. Two wheeling for a couple seconds but the crawl control kept her chuggin up the hill.

Here you can see the mud caked up into the stock skid plate. Skid plate is getting trashed once I get to California. So sliders and a skid palte are next on the list.

Crawl control enabled works just as good going downhill.

Last incline of the day before heading home.
