IMG_4522.jpegWill this be the new North American “Rampage”?

According to details uncovered by Mopar Insiders, Ram has reportedly secured a patent for a compact truck in the US. The patent, which was originally filed on March 16, 2023, was officially granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office recently on April 22, 2025.

The slanted rear of the passenger box is a major fail for me🤮

But more important, what do you guys think of this proposed design?
Failed it?
Or
Nailed it?

Doesn't mean the back wall is slanted, just the edges/C pillars are. Was the same for the Honda Ridgeline..... And for me, a SUV is more practical but if you need an open bed this might be a good option. Maybe the SUV version would be a revived Durango??

Can’t say they nailed it or failed it with just a couple of renderings. The rear slant of the cab looks better to me than being a 90 degree angle but does make it much harder to put a topper on the bed. Having a alternative to the Maverick, Ridgeline or Santa Cruz is a good thing.

No clear separation between box and cab, so, sorta Meverick-y, Santa Cruz, Ridgeline type of vehicle. That's ok. The original Rampage from the 80's was no HD workhorse but could get a lot of home-grade stuff done. Could be a pretty cool contender. They will need to make it efficient and fun

Another re-design of the American 4 Door Car!

In the early 1990's back folks drove 4 door cars with a trunk-lid.

Starting in the 1990's we transitioned to SUV's which are nothing more than a 4 Door Car with a Hatchback.

The Maverick brought us our latest transition and that is a 4 Door Car with a small PU bed.

At the end of the day the Maverick, this Ram design, the new Toyota Stout and any others are still just different take on a 4 Door Car.

Basic TRANSPORTATION!

Oh, my FAVORITE to hate on is Subaru calling the CrossTrek an SUV.

I'm like, no, it's a 4 door hatchback with a lift.
