As to the quality of the plastic used, it seems very heavy duty. It's a textured gloss abs? Not sure but I can say that you could probably smash out all the windows on a car with it no problem. It's thick and hearty. The 10 year UV test will take almost 10 more years so I'm afraid that's yet to be determined but the factory offers about 4 dozen different snorkels for various vehicles so they are a big mfg of this kind of thing.
Has aluminum threaded inserts on the back in 5 places for mounting, plus 3 more in the vertical piece for rivets to the A-pillar. After completely molesting my fender I was shy to drill holes in the A pillar too, so I instead used double stick tape on that bracket. The snorkel is sturdy enough it probably doesn't need any attachment there but I figured since it comes with a decent bracket why not, and the double stick just ads a bit of vibration control and strength. I will include 3 black pop rivets if you want to go that route, I will also include the tape so you can choose one or both.
I'm considering having a piece of metal tube bent to offer for V6 users, but I would need to install one or have someone here send me one they made that works well and we can go from there. The 4 cyl airbox happens to be right there already.
