I honestly didn't plan on getting such a big set-up. It was my wife's fault, and a good salesman in the store. Really looking forward to playing with all these new toys! Prices were really good compared with the USA, and was all tax free (sales tax is 8% in Japan). Plus there were New Years sale packages on a couple of items.

I want to take a trip to visit my relatives in Japan and go shopping for SP gear already. I know I just started my collection but it sure is hard and expensive to get them in the US. DonTom definitely will be the envy of a few members here :)

Looks fantastic. Great choice of items.

I remember reading that some of the hatchets have been recalled due to the head coming loose.

Hopefully the one you bought isn't affected by this.

I didn't get the insert, out of stock until February! I have a friend who travels to Japan regularly, so will get the insert later: it's a 1.5 unit insert, so will need to get a half unit box to fill the IGT then. Which means I really should get the new half box hanger as well....I love how this stuff snowballs!

I do feel like a lottery winner at the moment! The wok burner is very, very hot, used it last night for dinner. My wife is Malaysian Chinese, so we'll use it for some of the classic hawker dishes like Char Kueh Teow etc.
The downside is that gas bottles are pricey here, and often hard to find. I'm planning on getting one of the gadgets that allow you to refill the screw in cylinders from the cheaper bayonet cylinders.
I'm also a bit of a pressure stove junkie, so am toying with fettling it to run off white spirits, after pre-heating it with gas. Most liquid gas stoves are capable of this with varying results. One of the common issues is pulsing, due to resonance in the supply tube. I'm hoping that having dual control valves on this unit will avoid this....

Thanks: a lot of thought went into choosing, and managing weight limits for check in! Must say that the guys in the store packaged the IGT and accessories beautifully for me.

The hatchet isn't actually a Snow Peak one, I found it for about ¥2000 (US$17) in a hardware store in Hokkaido where we were skiing. It has a wedge that's easy enough to tap in further if it gets loose: plus it has a neat little retainer to prevent the head coming right off anyway, like on the Snow Peak peg hammer.

Fantastic. I've been to Japan skiing myself a few times. Usually go to Hukuba in Nagano Prefecture. Fantastic snow and a truly magical place.

Did you visit the SP factory or just went to a store?

I went to an L-Breath store in Shinjuku, Tokyo. Would have loved to go to the factory, but a bit out of the way with the family!
The L-Breath store had a floor mostly dedicated to Snow Peak. There wasn't a dedicated store within easy distance of where we were staying.

I also bought a few items for skiing in another L-Breath store in Kanda,Tokyo at the start of the trip. Both stores commented that stock is often short for Snow Peak, and that it's so popular that discounting is very rare.

I already had the full Titanium Trek set before the trip: we use it when skiiing to make soup or noodles for lunch. I added 4 Ti bowls to the set this trip, as they sit perfectly in the Trek 1400:

We also bought 4 Ti sporks, as I'm sick of replacing broken plastic cutlery.
Here's some of this kit in use up in Hokkaido:

Brilliant.

Can you tell me more about the black pot set in this picture? Is it a cast Dutch oven ???

Looks like it has a few layers in there.
