Solar wiring in pop up truck camper

I recently bought an older pop up truck camper. It came with a Renogy 100 watt solar system wired up and functioning. The former owner didn't want to put holes in the roof so he ran the wire through the roof vent. This worked but I want to replace the vent with a fantastic fan and reroute the solar wiring.

All of this to ask.

What is the best way to run a solar wire through the roof of a pop up camper?

I just watched a video of a guy that used plastic junction boxes. I would imagine he attached the box then sealed it to the roof. Then you would have a water tight connection with easy access.

one of these will give you a water tight seal if installed right.

Check out boomers build in the van section. He just installed a junction box through his roof that was water proof. How did the interior paint turn out?
