SOLD 1993 Defender 110 200TDI, LHD, 181K Miles

Up for sale is my 1993 Land Rover Defender 110. It has the 200TDI, is left hand drive, has original paint, original LT77 transmission and LT230 transfer case, factory tropical roof with vented wind channels to the inside, and currently shows 181,053 miles (291,377 kms). I imported it from the Netherlands in January 2020 and drove it back to SLC from the Baltimore port without a single hiccup. Since day one it has been a surprisingly excellent vehicle. Tons of fun to drive and easy to work on. Clean Utah title in hand.

Full album of pictures can be found here.

Here is a list of all work I personally completed under my ownership, aside from the items listed as done by GBR (Great Basin Rovers) in Salt Lake which is a Defender specialist shop.

Work done:
2020
-dash bulkhead vent seal
-crank case breather cyclone
-water pump
-intercooler
-fuel lift pump
-headlights
-ignition cylinder with new keys
-filters
-regular oil changes
2021
-head light switch
-driver door handle
-regular oil changes
2022
-Old Man Emu heavy duty springs and shocks
-Mantec tire carrier
-heavy duty tie rod, drag link, and panhard rod
-rear brake pads
-drive belts
-thermostat
-hazard switch
-Land Rover Wolf wheels powder coated - paint matched to roof
-snow shield for heater intake
-miscellaneous hardware for floor panels and door cards
-regular oil changes

Done by GBR this month (October 2022):
-swivels completely rebuilt and new swivel ball for passenger side
-all new bushings bumper to bumper (radius arms, trailing arms, axle housing joints, etc)
-rear a-frame ball joint
-front brake calipers, rotors, pads
-rear drive flanges

Prior to my ownership it is my understanding that a new turbo was fitted and the timing belt was done. I do not have any documentation of this, but the turbo is visibly new.

Since the truck is original, it has some character. The frame is rust free and so is the body. There is some rust on the bottom of all 3 doors, but 95% of the doors are rust free. All is shown in the photos. The mid top rail has 4 areas where there was previous rust repair done. Pictures shown. The hood has a dent and there are scattered minor blemishes in various places on the truck from previous ownership.
The steering box leaks a little at the drop arm but functions perfectly. I put a little Lucas power steering stop leak in once in a while that actually helps dramatically. There are other oil drips that collect around various bolts from the oil pan to the t case, but nothing actually makes it to the ground. Pretty good for a Defender.
The front door hinges are obviously original, have faded paint, and are a bit tired but function well so I did not replace them. There are the normal driving clunks, quirks, and squeaks you’d expect from a 200tdi. For example, occasionally the diff lock indicator bulb will not turn off when disengaged, the transfer case clunks a bit when you release the throttle at high speeds, and the right turn signal sometimes gets double the current.
Overall everything works well. The heat works well, she shifts great if you have a strong left foot, no blow-by, all doors lock, the door seals are fairly new, and she cruises at 70mph.
Some of the things I replaced were broken or in need of maintenance, but a lot of them were preventative or preferential upgrades. The Defender is in excellent mechanical condition.

Thanks for looking!
