Some Project Rigs...

So my $500 '91 RS came with some unknown tranny issues. Back story on it was the original owner towed it behind a motorhome for much of it's life. When I picked it up from I believe the 3rd owner (3rd owner only had it for a short time) one of the tranny lines was leaking pretty bad. Upon inspecting the aluminum lines I found a small wear mark where the line had rubbed on the bottom of the block causing the leak. I cut outand repaired the line, flushed tranny and did a filter / pan gasket. Things were good for several thousand miles and now I have some slipping. Think it may be the torque converter. So I start looking for a new torque converter but the known fact that the '91 had been towed for many years behind a motorhome concerned me. I don't have much experience with towing a vehicle behind a motorhome but I do believe that it can cause some damage / wear to a automatic transmission if not done correctly. My guess on the Montero tranny is you would want to have the transfer case free, tranny in neutral and probably the vehicle running to keep tranny fluid moving through the automatic transmission??

Anyways I shifted gears and thought maybe I find a used tranny out of another Gen 1 and just swap.

Well I picked this up locally last week for $500. '90 LS with a bad motor (cylinder # something bad). Super clean interior, with new exhaust, bunch of new seals and parts (previous owner attempts to get it up and running) a good tranny and a limited slip rearend. So the now the '91 RS is going to get some upgrades!

I had a guy (ebay overseas) design some rear quarter panel matte black vinyl decals for the Raider. Classic Dodge Raider font. I like a lil flair on my rigs with clean lines but unique. I will share a pic when they arrive...Screenshot_2019-01-21-10-51-36-1.png
