Thanks for the heads up on the deal. I managed to get the last one that they had in the Lacey WA. store for $34.99! While the guy was checking the computer about the inventory I noticed that several stores had different prices for these and they are selling out fast!

I got one today from Natomas best buy in Sacramento with bonus kit and 15% service discount for $54. There's 1 w/o the bonus kit left for the same price so if you are closer to Sac area, might wanna give them a call if still available.

Delaware has a few

The store on the Concorde Pike has 3 left (after I got mine)
The store at Newark (Churchmans road I think) has one even though the online stock list says it does not :).

I'll sell an extra one I bought for 65.00 + shipping

So, I bought 2 at 56.00 each, after hearing of this. Drove an hour each way, and then had to wait while they virtually tore apart the store looking for them.

At any rate, I tried to activate one of them last night; couldn't do it. A phone call to Tech Support revealed that I had bought one of the earlier '"recalled" units. So now they are shipping me out a current unit, while I return this one...

While I had them on the phone, I had them run the ESN for the second one, which checked out fine.

I was originally just planning to buy only one, but when I got to the store, their inventory showed 2 in stock, so I snapped up the second one too. If anyone on this thread is interested but couldn't capitalize on it, I'll sell this one, NIB, for what it cost me: 56 + 3.50 tax + 5 bucks in gas = 65.00, plus shipping. It'll probably fit in one of those flat rate boxes from USPS. If no one is interested in this thread, I'll put it up on the classifieds section in a few days.

PM me if interested.

I'm not making any money on this; just wanted to give back a little to ExPo...

Thanks for the heads up on this, Cabrito.

I plan on dropping the unit in my kid's fanny pack when we go camping.

Edit: Extra spot is sold.

I picked up the last two at my (semi) local Best Buy. I can pass along the same deal as the guy above. $60+shipping. Hopefully this can save someone some money. This one comes with the bonus "Adventure Kit" and a 15% off service coupon.

Thanks to the person who posted this. :sombrero:

Thank you for posting this.

I was able to pick one up with the free Special Edition Adventure Kit for $56.
Was a bit of a drive to a BB with them in stock but worth the drive.

They had one left at the BB in Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462 - they are kind of hidden, locked in a case, none on display and no visible pricing in the GPS section of the store.

Excelsior!
I noticed Bestbuy having a sale on the silver and black model of the Spot Messenger, and when I went in the store to buy one in person they had them for $56!

Thank you very much for the heads up!! My original SPOT-1 has a bad power button and will not reliably turn off. It was getting to where I had to remove the battery cover and then one of the batteries. Sigh,

Then I suddenly "spot" your thread and scour the local area for one and lo and behold, it also includes the "adventure" goodies including the cover and a 15% activation discount coupon. SAWEET!!

Your welcome!

The ones I got were also the "Adventure" pack with the 15% service discount, but I was in such a hurry to activate it that I didn't see it and now I feel really stupid..
