SLO_250 yeah it is getting a 4 link conversion done sometime this summer. I looked at the 05 and newer front end which is what I think you are thinkin of came with the coil front end. They do have a better turning radius and factory 35 spline outers, i really didnt want to buy a new front end. I looked at all the current 4 link conversion for the leaf sprung superduty and they are for the look how tall and big my truck is in the mall!! The best one out of the bumch is full traction but they leave alot to be desired. I heard the from numerous installers and owners they cant keep the bolts tight on he brackets with real off roading not what I want. So the plan at the moment is a full 4 link suspnesion 2.5 inch coilovers, 2.5 bump stops, and a torsioal sway bar. It will have an intergrated transmisson and tcase skid that is removable for service. Right now the big thing is if it will be marketable, goin to proto type it on my truck and see what the general opinon is. We are looking at probally a 6" max lift, mine will be 4" lift. lol hope that answered your question.

The spyntec hubs wasnt hard swap BUT buy new studs from ford!!!!! the hardest part was replacing the balljoints lol. Their is a guy on pirate that sells a high steer knucke setup for the newer style and I would have gotten those if he made them then. I only had 87000 on mine and one hub was just about shot!
If you have an more question just ask! thanks for the comments!

Oh man I cant wait to see this build. I am new to the 4x4 world as in college I fabricated a few front ends for my A-Arm prerunner. Last one I did worked well and cycled 20" strapped. Since then I sold that money pit and have the superduty pop-up camper setup but have never been happy with the leaf sprug front end. I keep sketching up ideas on linking the front, but time and $$$ has been keeping it out of reality. I might just settle for a set of deaver 4" lift springs when my current tires wear down. I spoke with deaver in length and they said I would get better performance.

Yea, most of the kits I have found, I agree. "Cool" powder coated bling BS. :ylsmoke: And Holy cow those spyntec hubs are PRICEY! :Wow1: haha. Im going to have to opt out since Im saving $$$ for a rebuilt tranny. Got 202,000mi and its going to go sometime. Have you serviced just the bearings on your front end? Im going to have to do that this summer.

Im also a member on powerstroke.org and have found those guys to be helpful with lots of info for our trucks.
Cheers,
Paul

Yeah i would have probally gone with the deavers also with a nice set of reservior shocks if this didnt come up. I do a lot of desert travel so i still think it would have been harsh so i do like some speed. I never greased the front bearings ive only but 12000 miles on it since i bought it 5 years ago. I do like ur camper setup by the way
