Very cool. I little bit different than what I pictured from your description over the phone, but better than I had imagined. Nicely done!

I wonder if you could stitch another layer of the "Velcro" over what is there (basically making it double sided) so you could put the cutout back in place if you wanted? Maybe not worth it but if the tent was ever moved to a vehicle or different trailer it could then still be fully functional by having the cutout section velcroed back into place. Just a thought.

I am always concerned about keeping the inside of my RTT clean. I don't want to track in dirt/mud so I put a mat down under the ladder and keep boots/sandals nearby, but outside of the tent. My new Kukenam XL ruggedized has gear loops along the bottom which are perfect for rigging up a storage solution.

I "recycled" a 6' aluminum flag pole and used some simple wire ties to suspend it from the gear loops.

I picked up a couple of "closet organizers" which I hung from the flag pole.

On the first trip out they worked as advertised. Was able to keep footwear off the ground and away from "creepy crawlers", store toiletries and keep essential gear handy. The organizers are off the ground and protected from the rain by the tent and rain fly.

A couple buddies bugged me to make them a set of the straps like I did for my Mombasa RTT. Had enough extra to make a couple more sets if anyone is interested. They have nice metal buckles too. Mine still work great after a few years service.

I got a few of these too. I didn't have time to flip the whole RTT open but you get the idea. Hopefully a little more time tomorrow for a better pic.

Ok a few questions I have about running lights in the tent, how are you guys pulling power from the truck? I'm personally going to try and pull +12v from my trailer plug. Secondly, how much power does your typical LED strip pull? I'm considering about running a dual battery system. Also, I'm going to be taking my Ayer out during elk season, I've heard of various ways of heating. What are some surefire it's ways to take the cold off? I have a zero degree bag, I figure the more warmth the better.

It depends on the LED strip you're choosing, somewhere between 5-15 watt per meter. I have three 5050 LED strips in my RTT about 0.6 m each that is 15 watt/m ie. 27 watt total. That is more than enough light so I also placed a dimmer to make it cozy :)
