T.Hanks Off-Road Camper Build

I purchased this old camper for $100 from an old man who left it to rot on his land. He used it for hunting which is why it's spray painted green. There is also a rear kitchen.

My plan is to tear down and rebuild on the frame a teardrop style camper. I am going to try and salvage some of the parts though if possible.

I like it! Nice size and the quilted skin could be stripped and polished.
Strip the interior and restore. I would keep it as is but lifted for more clearance.

I want something a little more compact for the trails or I would just restore it. Plus lifting it with the current size and axle with would make it very tippy.

Not much updating yet but I did pick up a little 90 amp mig welder today $65 bucks brand new through a little connection I have plus it has a full warranty so why not right.

Tear down has begun.

Removed all windows and doors to salvage some parts.

Then it was time to get barbaric. After first cutting up the frame and supports we decided to flip it with the X and remove our frame.

Here is our frame for the new teardrop. Now time to bust rust and paint it.

Not too much yet. Just cleaned and primed metal from rust and then fixed some welds in a few spots.
