not, but when you start using higher quality materials there is a better value to the finished product. and with sheetgoods, there's not waste except sawdust. just be careful when / if you use pieces smaller than 12"; they put your hands close to the sawblade.

This is so true.

I just built my first shelf/fridge/camp set up for my 4runner. Got lower quality plywood. It sucks. Warped, and it cut really poorly. Also, simply drilling caused it to splinter, and most of the holes broke out.

Buy once, cry once. Its gonna cost me a lot more to build something better down the road.
