I do not know what mileage I am getting now but with my 33s on I was getting 18-19 mpg mixed mostly city though. I expect to get a bit less than that but not too much when I get the new gears in to get it back close to stock gearing. thats why you run your own bio so you pay very little per gallon but I may just carry extra fuel not go with a bigger tank

You should talk to mike ver at Lokey trucks and go SVO. It is alot easier to deal with and you can fuel up just about anywhere in the middle of the night LOL! that is unless you go in and get permission to raid the WVO tank outback. Most places say go ahead especially once they see your going to drive on it. It blows people away. On the run to baja last year we held up a few chinese food places with no issues.

Good thread .. since we have the same trucks!!

I've looked at all the bumpers options, I'm settled on an ARB too .. when I get the cash. And I really like the dark wheels. I'll have to paint my stockers.

About the extra tank. This would be the last mod I'd do. An extra 250+ lbs for that rare occasion when you'd NEED it is not worth it in my mind. The payload on these trucks is 2000#. Larger tires, skids, RTT, bumpers etc will eat it up pretty fast. Trucks drive better if they're not maxed out on payload.
and
I usually get 500+ miles per tank anyway (that means one fillup between Boulder, CO and California if planned right). My best is 702 miles a tank.

Gpm

Okay, I have got an '06 3500 CTD. It sits on 35 inch tires on 19.5 steel wheels(140lbs per wheel) I run Biodiesel and I get good gas mileage.
Its my work truck: I drive around at about 5 mph all day long stopping frequently (I inspect trees on a huge coniferous tree farm) I do this all day and I got 17.6 mpg on my last tank, its 34 gallon tank.
On the highway: I get 21 + gpm when cruising on the highway at steady speed.
On the road with my 4000lbs caper on the back I have gotten as little as 13gpm and up to 20gpm. All in all I am really happy with it.
I wish I had a second tank...

The only way I am going to go with a second tank is when I go SVO which looks really good right now with gas prices.

Update on my truck: Gears get in today, front skidplate is done and will post some pics soon.

Neat truck man. I love those Cummins motors. Can't wait to see this progress, I'm a bit of a bio diesel fan as well.

Cheers

front skid

Well here is the skid I bent up for the front. It is of 3/16 steel and was bent using our hydraulic bender ( a tractor) but I cannot find those pics. well here are some pics of before and after the skid and I will try and find those other pics because well they are funny.

Also should be putting in the new gears either this weekend or next and trying to get an h2 swing a way tire carrier to make a rear bumper with.
