yes there was a couple smaller things that really caught our attention - I'll get back to that. There was indeed a few folks wearing Overland Journal caps - always nice to see!

There are over 250 companies listed on the flier we received at the show. So even if you'd only spend 30 minutes at each booth, that would 120 hours...in 4 days.

There are probably over 1000 campers in the camping area. Assuming you managed to only drink one German beer at each campsite, you would probably drink over 500 beers in 4 days too.

One company that really draw our attention is Tom's Fahrzeugtechnik.

http://toms-fahrzeugtechnik.eu/de/

They specialized in Land Cruiser conversion and their work is top quality. Tom (the owner) is a fantastic guy and has been there for 12 years (since the beginning).
He has one of the best booths of the show, complete with their own kitchen where I managed to taste blood sausage for the first time. He also runs his own shuttle to the parking/camp area in case you have had too many beers and missed the last bus shuttle (6pm).

A basic poptop conversion starts at 5700 Euro. A complete box in the back (including cutting the Land Cruiser body) is about 25K Euro if I remember correctly.

He said that he has an order backlog of about 1 year. We also discussed the possibility of bringing some in the USA (for the 80 and 100 series) but we both think the cost would be too high for the market (probably around $10K).

Is this a yearly event?

I will come down the next time when the renovation of my Volvo Valp and PTO driven trailer are finished!

Hi chaps, sorry no pics of the interior of the electrical unit but if you look at the door you can see a smaller door in it, so you can shut the door from the inside then open the smaller door in the main door, lean out and then padlock the main door on the outside and then close the smaller door which has no outside handle...******.?

yes there were a few solar companies one had a range of panels that were flexible and could be used flat on the roof or floor as they incorporated a small dome type Fresnel lens over the cell Oh and if they were laid on a hard flat surface you could walk on them, I'm awaiting an Email with english details from memory mid size panel with 1.1Ah output was 280euro.

yes show is run every year. though next year i'll be at the town campsite as the 12V hairdryer did not do it for the wife.!

Ah Sigh...

Very exciting. I hope that we can have some representation at this show next year, but it is starting to look like it may be two years from now at this point.

Still, very cool stuff.

Next year if anyone wants to bring some Muskoka Stuff to hand out, let me know!

Thanks a lot to all of those who shared photos! Lots of big trucks to see this year, I am very grateful. It is always a nice education to see what folks are doing these days.

Regards,
