Thanks for the cool pictures. We were up there a couple of weekends ago right after it rained and was pretty chilly out. The poppies weren't really poppin'. Not as crowded either. Saw that road you were on from the trail. Gf wanted to walk the trail so we did. May need to go back and do the dirt roads!

The poppies are peaking now so get on back! Once your g/f sees the other areas she'll skip the trail. Some of the roads start before the reserve on the right side of the paved road. The area in back is accessed by a northerly dirt road just past the Reserve's main entrance which follows the western boundry, then hangs a right at a gate (be sure to close it), then you go a bit north again then make a right and follow the northern boundary of the Reserve.

It was a fun little venture.

First thing I noticed was that your ride has Limb Risers and then I noticed that some cute girl is blocking my view of part of the truck! :sombrero:

When were you there? Today?

Thanks! We went the same day you did and pretty much took that same path... we didn't go until later in the afternoon...

Are the dirt roads pretty easy to spot?

I am planning on taking my gf there for a her bday this weekend so it would be great if we could get a good view w/o fighting the crowds. Are you directions coming in from the east?

Thanks
