dont kid yourself Jeeps are easy to work on but they are still POS's and constantly need work. I could have bought something else waaay nicer than my cherokee for the amount of time and money i have poured into it.
Thinking about jumping ship.....

I change all of the fluids in both of mine once a year and hardly ever need to fix anything beyond that, my 96 even has the original power seats that work great.
Stick with the Xj having over 20 years of production and cross brand parts availability is a plus. Every wrecking yard in the world has parts sitting around for these things. Except Dana 35 axle shafts those always seem to be missing and go quickly. I wonder why... Do what you want want, the best advice is to find something you can afford and that you are comfortable sitting in the drivers seat.
