This fell off my engine block. What is it?

Gentlemen,

It pains me to show my ignorance, but my Google-**** is letting me down. While cleaning my battery cables on my '99 Montero today, I saw a loose mounting bracket lying on the frame just in front of the right wheel assembly. It wasn't apparent to me where it came from, and I can't find a matching picture on any of the exploded engine diagrams.

Can you help?
