Nice! It's been quite a while since I've done any exploring in that area. Love the "Beastmaster" by the way.

Anytime you are up for exploring the mythical road leading from the Tip Top/Packer area to CK keep me posted...
Sounds good to me Brian! I think we may need to head out EARLY one saturday ready to camp and just putt along the 2 possible trails I've been looking at. Should be good times! :smiley_drive:
I don't have a free day until mid December anyway so that works!I'm in. Unless it's like next week or something. Just got home from 2+ weeks out and the wife, dogs, house, and truck all need some love.
I think Jon should just walk in front of the trucks with some garden sheers. I'm sure he'll enjoy that. :victory: Haha!Tim - I am ready, I have a route I will have to show you. We will have to make sure Jon joins because I know he is proficient in the art of clearing down trees with a hand saw.
I am in socal but I visit Queencreek, AZ often. I would love to join you guys on any day trips that hopefully happen when I am out there. Please if you can keep me posted on stuff you may do maybe I can work a visit around one! I know there is a ton of stuff to explore in AZ, I just don't know where!
Thanks
Jordan
Ahh, we sent down the road I think they did from the Horsethief side. It got so steep and so rough that I could tell it was going to be one of those, maybe try it on a dirt bike first sort of roads. It looked almost like a powerline road the way it cut straight up and straight down the hills. Not at all trying to take the easiest route. There was an old sign calling it the Tip Top Mine Rd even... Yikes!
There is/was a trail from the Columbia Mine to Tip Top. I've never been on it, so I can't offer any specifics.
That's the only remnant of an old road that I know of that comes up from Tip Top and every report I've read describes exactly as you did. I seem to recall there's even the remains of an old Jeep partway down the hill?
You can't do it all the way via vehicles but you can come up from the back way to CK, just below Burro John, past the Lane Mine and then up the Lane Mountain trail and end up on Horsethief Basin Road too.

Great pics Tim! Looks like it was a good time. I really need to get out and do some exploring in this area. Thanks for sharing!
