tire weight with 321 gear ratio?

That was my plan but after I installed the 2 1/2 inch AEV lift my 33 inch tires just look too small

I only installed the lift because after 65000 miles the Jeep started to ride like crap, so instead of replacing it with stock parts I figured why not upgrade to a better riding suspension, my brakes were also worn so again instead of stock I upgraded to the Teraflex big rotor kit.

My 2.5" lift and 33" tires--look too small??

I have a '13 JKUS myself, rolling 33" tires, a 2.5" lift, and I am going to re-gear to 4.56 before moving one size to 34" tires. My advice, spend a grand and re-gear first.

A grand ??

I live in Rhode Island, I've shopped around at a couple of places and the rate for parts and labor range anywhere from $2,500 - $2,800 and frankly a couple of the places I would not have let them work on my Jeep for free. I wish it were $1,000 I would have mustard that up somehow and just went ahead and done it.

You are being bent the ****** over. https://www.offroadevolution.com/services/regearing/ At what you are being quoted you could drive here, do it, and drive back. I'd recommend shopping harder.

Check with these guys, they aren't that far away.

:sombrero: Thanx Km, that's a fine looking jeep/w the teardrop-

That's quite a company and somewhat rare, but if you can get their service/w warranty--go forit--

Thanks! I tell you, giving that trailer back to Off the Grid Rentals on Tuesday was the saddest thing I've done all year!

:sombrero: Heh Heh, yeah teardrops are supreme and if you search enough you can get a good one for under 10K--

They're a little to restrictive for me though--

The overall average for a re-gear/w warranty is $1200 bucks ON SALE--

Everybody's gotta story-

$1200 is not a bad price at all. I think the OP just needs to shop a little harder....

I've used Mitchell before, top notch work, quality is great. He made some driveshafts for me in the past and they did a Dana 60 for a friend of mine.

Not the lowest, but I've learned my lesson on past vehicles about the cheapest bidder and setting gears.

Running from Monday..
Not a Jeep'er, but re-gearing holds true for everybody. Do it. It's not sexy, but you won't regret it. Single greatest modification I did on my Chevy was going from 4.11-4.88 for the 35's. My cost was about $2300, but that included a Detroit locker.. I can tow everything I could before the big tires and it trucks our FWC up the side of mountains like nothing..

To pitch in on the original question though.. Nope. I can't see the few pounds making any noticeable difference.

Sorry guys I forgot to update this thread,

So last week I installed 35 inch Goodyear Wrangler duratracs on AEV salta Wheels.

There's a slight difference in power and shift points after going from the 33s to the 35s but nothing too major.

Frankly I'm relieved that i don't have to re gear, expecially considering that I haven't got a programmer/ tuner yet.

In summary if your considering 35 inch tires with 321s and you live near sea level and don't Offroad that often, absolutely get the tires first before you re gear so that you can judge for yourself.

So no Subaru for me.
