I'd have to say I feel the opposite about the FC-II. I think they look like crap.
I did some looking and reading about the treadwrights. The price is great and the construction checks out good, but I have read about them taking a whole lot of weight to balance and most tire shops won't touch them. If it was strictly a wheeler, I wouldn't mind, but I don't think I'll go that route on a DD.
Redline (tire guru) has been studying the FC-II tires for a while now. You may want to check out some of his research before buying. That said, he gave me the run down on these tires while I was in Hollister, and I am impressed. They will be the next set of tires to go on my cruiser.
Deep tread, large voids for an A/T tire, advanced siping pattern and sturdy sidewall with good flex. Redline's got me sold on them, thanks to his thourough and unbiased review. Here is the thread on these tires.
