Track Rack or Thule bed racks

Anyone here using track racks or the Thule ones that adjust up and down? Im not sure if we have a forum for that stuff or not. Im passenger in the truck right now and my net is a little slow. I want to run them on the bed rails of my 03 F250 and want to put a gypsy or confer rack on top.

No one has any idea about these? No one?

John,

I have been working on a way to carry 2 canoes on top of my Rig.

Trackrac is one option I looked at, but I wanted to consider using a camper shell as well.

A friend of mine had a custom rack made for his work truck that ran over his shell.

Similar to these:

But I want more versatility.

I am working on plans to just build my own, high enough over a shell that I can run it with or without the shell and carry any manner of items up there.

Here is what I have right now, as soon as I can I will draw up some better plans using google sketchup.

Trac Rack

Trac Rack has 1250lb capacity if I am not mistaken. Thule was 350lb. Track Rack is adjustable with multiple accessories. Customer support is great as well. I have had a Trac Rack for years. Use it for work as a General Contractor and as a camping skeleton for tarps. Am considering a RTT in the future. Only downside is clearance. These are tall. I am over 7-1/2' with a stock 4x4 04' Ram 1500.

I have the Thule Xsporter racks on my F150. They came with the truck, but I really like them. They adjust nicely. I used them to haul ladders with at my previous job. I would recommend them to anyone needing something like this. I especially liked when I had to carry one of my shorter extension ladders, i could lower these all the way down, and it kept the ladder lower than the top of the cab. It was also nice carrying 12' ladders over the cab.

Oh wow, I just saw the date of the original post, talk about thread resurrection. Sorry....
