1995 Discovery, 143k. Stock, new stock size tires. Manual leather seats with sunroofs. Southern truck, originally from Texas then Georgia. NO rust. Not a spec anywhere. This is why I bought it. It runs great, although in typical Land Rover fashion I've owned it for more than a week but have only been able to drive it 3 days because I had to rebuild the distributor! (With no garage, no workbench, in a muddy dirt parking lot)

It's nice to be back in a Rover again... I have had plenty before (87 RRC, 88 RRC, 93 LWB, 64 IIA 88") but have taken a 3-year hiatus and driven a Jeep Rubicon. Until I totaled it 2 weeks ago :(

Took the Discovery up to the orchard near here (see above) and then down to "the tubs", a waterfall/glacial rock formation that we swim at in the summer.

I have stuff left over from both the Jeep and previous Rovers. This will get my old OME MD lift with Bilsteins, 265/75R16 Cooper ST's on Defender rims, the winch from the Jeep on a custom bumper, and rock sliders.

I will post progress here.

Springs and shocks are installed along with new tires. I was shopping around between a few different choices, but settled on the Maxxis Bighorns in 265/75R16. I was able to get them locally for $160 each mounted and balanced, plus a $100 credit for my old (basically brand new) tires. I have been very impressed by their performance so far, on road and off.

Springs are OME 761s in front, and 764s in back. The back rides a little low compared to the front, but that is because I travel with quite a bit of tools and gear all the time. I don't have a garage or anything at the moment, so everything stays in the truck all the time.

Some pics from this past weekend, courtesy of my friend Shavit:

Yes the front bumper is a little tweaked and the trim piece below the RF headlight is missing ;) Does anybody have one laying around?

I've been going through all the mechanicals as well; its had a full tuneup, distributor rebuild, rear brakes and wheel bearings, fuel pump, fuel filter, etc. Front brakes are next. I'm upgrading to Defender calipers and vented rotors.

Nice shots. It looks like you jumped in with both feet with the old girl. Any more pictures of you and the silver DII on the trail?
