TRD off road package a good value?

^True. Resale is rediculous. At least in Cali, i found that new was a better deal.

As the ower of an Off Road, i say they are worth it. I do offroad and i do use the locker--it makes all the differnce in the world when you need it. Electric locker is the way to go IMO. ATRAC is awesome too, so are the seats in a TRD. It's not the only way to buy or build, but i don't think you'd regret it.

If you like driving sticks, you'll probably hate the manual. Rev hanging and gear spacing made me go auto. I prefer manuals, but in this case, i think Toyota made a really good auto, and a sub-par manual. Both are strong enough.

Must do mods:
Tires!
Exhaust re-route (it hangs low under the tcase, but can be moved behind the tcase by a muffler shop)

Want to do mods:
Lift (ton of options)
Armor

Good luck!

You're looking for mild off road performance and the TRD OR will give it. I would question the wisdom of passing up just the e-locker for a $1500 savings. Buy an equivalent and pay someone to install it and you'll eat up that savings real fast. For what youve stated I'd opt for the TRD OR, throw on a leveling kit "maybe", make sure it has a decent set of OR capable tires, and hit it.

For off road performance you pretty much have 3 options. You're going to wrench, you're going to pay someone to wrench, or you're going to buy it pretty much done from the get-go.

Which one do you want to do? The answer to that one little question will pretty much tell you which way to go.
