Couple of pics from a few years ago. Over at Rockport, IL with MWIOR guys. Shortly after that stuck I Lincoln Locked the rear. That trip also got a bashed in door. Convinced me to build rocker guards.

I've had my '99 Trooper for close to 9 years and 100K miles. I've drug trailers all over the southwest for teardrop and dutch oven gatherings. I've bounced around out in the desert taking pictures of ghost towns and old mines. With all the junk that I haul around with me (and often 4 dogs too), I love the space that it provides.

Last weekend was the first time I've had any problems with it. Unfortunately I was out in the desert photographing some old mine sites when the starter decided to start dying. I was able to get it to get it started, make it home and replace it.

I'm usually taking pictures of what's around me but never really think to take pictures of the truck. Here's a few that I have.

My sis was in town this week, so we all loaded up the Trooper and did a little exploring in the desert. Mostly trails, but I did find a few fun parts. Took a few shots:

Anyone w/ BFG 255/85R16s (or 255/80R17s) on a '98 and up Trooper? Curious about fit/rubbing issues as well as gearing/power issues. I have a 2000 with a 5 speed manual and am not interested in killing the clutch for a inch more tire.

255/85's will not fit stock without rubbing. A lift will be needed along with possible regearing. You can fit 265/75/16's (32") with no trouble on a stock Trooper.

True. I have 255s on stock susp and rub on the front if I hit a bump too fast. Other then that no problems. The power loss is not too bad, with 60mph now 70mph I think that helps. My wheels and tires weighed out to 73 lbs a piece, not sure what stock was. With 2" lift I doubt you'll have problems, and a 5spd should help out too. I'd go for it, no regrets here.
