Wouldn't it be easier to get a low mileage heavy duty frame (like from a M1008 CUCV) and mount the van body etc on it?

Could go at it that way, but it would be tall since the bottom of the van and the top of the frame are very unlikely to be all that friendly towards each other.

newer astros have 6 lug somewhere around mid 2000's they switched I think. what dealer has that camper at it? Wouldn't mind seeing pictures of it!

Can't tell you, you're from B.C. and might snag it:Wow1:

Just kiddin', it's the Mazda in Surrey, but I don't know the dealer name, "Surrey Mazda", maybe?

Wait I found it, get ready to pull your pud.... o and it was a 1995 and an astro, sorry.

Doesn't look too bad actually, for the year.

Yeah but my van is a unibody and for the price it would be easier to sell and start from a different approach.

I had an 86 Chevy converted by Pathfinder, which was pretty well done.
Their are places that could help you convert yours but you are better off buying one already done.

Sometimes I wish I still had mine.

Yeah the pre-converted is the route I'll have to go. I can buy a converted van around the same year I have or older anywhere between $3000-$10000,
depending on condition. There is a guy up this way that has a '79 chevy/GMC fully restored, except interior, and he wants $14500 but I'm not looking to get one restored, I just don't want the stuff falling off driving through the trails and such.
I have a link to a van in Carson City, NV and it's just what I'm looking for and not that bad of a price.

Sweet van though man.
