U Bolt Help!

Those of you that are using a trailer axle with full size leaf springs off a cherokee or in my case a ford explorer. how did you get around the U bolt problem? I can't seem to find u bolts that are 1 and 3/4 wide to fit around my axle that are also long enough so i can secure them.

Any ideas???

Custom u-bolts. Many industrial truck parts shops can make them on the spot. Or, order online:

Bend round steel bar and thread it with a die set?

thanks guys i looked at that site and they don't have anything under 2 inches so i emailed them to see what they can do

A local steel fabrication shop could do it.

Any heavy truck suspension shop in you area make them on the spot in just a few minutes if they do not have them in stock.

Just bring your mesure. Around 5-10$ a pieces with washer ans nuts. Bring a rag, they will be greasy.
