UJOR Build Thread

Shoot, I did a 10.5k Ambo with no lift. Standard E series should be easy peasy. The most useful tool you can have is a buddy, because once you roll under its guaranteed the tool you need is the one tool you didn't bring under with you. I wasted more time crawling back out for tools and what-zits than anything else.

Final day to drive this 08 6.0, final inspection and cleaning tomorrow. Headed home to VA next week.

Pull the trigger!

And make sure you have a few extra back up dollars handy;) These things are somewhat of a money pit during the build phase I have noticed!

Hey folks - just making sure my budget for new van will allow UJOR kit. Looking at 5.4 vans. Going with 6", but looking for slightly shorter and narrower tires, like 305/70/17 or 285/75/17. Both of those seem to be about 33.9".
Local wreckers seem to have Dana 60s and Sterlings with 4.30 ratios. How do you think that would work with the 5.4? I could change gear ratios later, but maybe this could get me going relatively inexpensively.

The 285 is narrower. 4.30 will do good unless the van is loaded heavily or towing. Nice to save $ and not have to re gear!

Loaded pallet! S2 D60 front with an ARB, 4.56s and the RSC upgrade. Sterling with another ARB, 6" lift, NV271, shock towers, Fox 2.0 res, everything else needed to build the rig but shafts. Headed to PA soon.

Don't have to be out west to have fun in this monster.

OK, I did pull the trigger! 2006 SMB RB E350 . Found what I think is a 10.5 Sterling rear out of a 2007 F250 about 3 hours from here. Parts guy says the axle code is V447M and 4L301056E11.

So as near as I can figure, this is a 4.30 limited slip, but the V447M throws me off - can't find that in the ID books. Googling that number gives me a "genuine ford axle assembly" but that is all.

Any assist?

Thanks!

Where did you take the pre-runner? Not many places on the east coast to run that thing, at least not how it should be run....:D

He built it while living in AZ and kept it there for a few years after moving here. I guess he missed it so brought it here, threw on some BFGs and to it street legal! He has some property but there aren't many (any) places to use something like that here. Still fun though, over 900hp is fun in anything!

Didn't waste any time taking it to the beach!

V6 is our workhorse. If you've bought a UJ part it has most likely taken a ride in V6 at some point. Its been 1 yr since we gave it a new 5.4, the best $ I've ever spent! Needed a brake master, oil change, tire rotation, fuel filter.

On the ground! We've been cranking to get this one done. Ready for shafts, fuel tank, lots of wiring then it will go next door for the high top and barn door windows.
