Chris,
What engine do you recommend if I'm looking to have the least amount of work(transmission/engine work) done to convert it to a 4x4 and still have a fairly capable urban assault vehicle / off road vehicle? Additionally, what is the "easiest" van yr/make/model to put a 4" lift on and same info for a 6" lift? Basically what vans would be "best" for a 4 inch lift and which for a 6 inch lift?

The easiest vans to convert are the 6.0 diesels. Followed by a V10 with the same 5R110 tranny, then a 7.3 or 5.4.

Busy week so far, same as the rest! Here's a cool pic from a customer install in CT, Chinook! 4" lift, V10

The silver 6.0 is back on the road after a pretty major overhaul! Runs great, waiting for a new tune since the existing one is terrible. WAY too aggressive on the transmission and we needed to reprogram it for the new 4.56 gears. Besides the engine work we added a rear skid system, OBA and an Espar diesel heater. The van already had the 6" 4x4 conversion, UJ fuel tank & front bumper along with the SMB pop top & Aluminess tire carrier. I'll have more pics on the website soon.

Prototyped some new light mounts, this is a 30" Rigid light bar mounted to the 08/up Aluminess bumper. We also made some mounts to put a 4" LED in the rear bumper.

Been a while Chris, I was on the Death Valley trip with you and Brad a couple of years ago. Any pics of what you are building for Brad?

I still talk about watching you snake your van through that slot canyon unscathed!

Yo! That was a great trip, one of the best I've been on for sure. I'll never forget getting to the top from the Hot Springs and the guy in the 4Runner telling me I wasn't going to make it!

Still collecting parts for Brad'd rig, building the axle next week and we'll start the teardown soon. It's going to be really nice!

The red 2014 van is mobile! Still have a few things to finish up.

We have a few new products releasing this week, all light mounts! This is for Aluminess rear bumpers to mount a 4" Rigid for reverse lights. I think they'll do the trick :)

Work continues on the Steel Blue 2014 as well! Just set it on the ground late today. This van is what happens when you let me do what I want :D

Funny to see the Chinook. I have been thinking about going that route but to date have not seen one done. I don't need it but I assume it could be converted to singles in the rear similar to "shortbusadventure's" Provan.
