jrose609 how about some pics of your tdi? maybe a write of the conversion? did I miss it somewhere?

No. You haven't missed it. I'm such a ******tty photographer, and not much of a writer. Just haven't started the thread yet.

I'm thinking maybe just a Tdi thread. People with Tdi's installed could post. Disco's, defenders, Rangies, etc. What you think?

it might be worth an email to them to ask if they would send to the states..... there has to be more than one way :friday:

I will shoot them an email and see what happens. I've ordered several things off ebay from the UK. No problems whatsoever! Thanks, Den!

hi all.....

been busy getting a few things done to the discovery. i fitted a steering guard and then cut the front bumper down to allow for more clearance. this is only a temp measure as my mate nick will be making up a front bumper for me in due course. i wanted to test the abilities of the standard suspension complete with anti roll bars before touching anything on the underside so i organised the club i run for a days play.

we headed out on to some local lanes. i must say i was that impressed with the set up i have stuck to a similar style. i have just ordered some gas shocks and heavy duty standard springs to go under her after testing was done.

anyway have a look at its standard look at play

You have had, and have, some cool LR's. I like that headlight setup you had as well. Keep posting the pics!

X2 on liking the headlight setup.

I emailed the company and they never responded. Their ebay website says they won't ship to the US. Maybe we could buy one and have a fellow Rover buddy ship to the US :bike_rider:

If anyone on this forum wants to buy some, PM me and I'll be happy for you to buy them on eBay and to have them sent to my address (I live in the UK). I'll send them on by whatever metod you like, and you can pay me the costs via Paypal. I may want a similar favour for US purchases sometime!

Cheers,

Michael...

we spent 3 weeks over there mate. we landed in san diego and had a hire car.we saw some great trucks while there. we then headed up to las vegas for a few days. drove down to the grand canyon and then back to vegas loving the desert highways alot. we saw loads of well kitted trucks while there.

we then came back across to LA for a few more days before heading up to san fransico for the last part of our stay in CA.

the last few days were spent in new york.....

i wish i had found this forum before coming over as we would of loved to get out in to the desert. its such an amazing country ......

The company probably won't ship to the US because the lights would be illegal in the US. UK lights focus more and dip to the left, US lights focus more and dip to the right.
Not that you can't probably swap out the headlights to US spec, but I expect they don't want people not doing it, getting a ticket then blaming them. Probably just don't want the faff.

I agree, I like the round headlights, they generally provide better lighting that rectangular.

And welcome Denviks :)

Nice rovers!

Sign me up as another fan of your lights-I also like the lights/grill swap on your current D1.

Your pictures remind me a lot of when my parent's lived in Swansea, Wales and the Gower pennisula on out to Risoli. They had a Ford Sierra 2.0 so we didn't get too far off the paved roads but I do recall spotting some nice looking trails and wishing I had something better suited for exploring them.

Cheers
