Definitely feeling UP withdrawal!
or maybe some of it is the reality of summer almost over, kids back in school, and being out of vacation days at work!
Thanks for the write up Ron, reminds me I have one to do too, in exchange for using a friends engel.
I'll post up the link after its done.
I also have been trying to clear up some space on my computer, dumping vids on youtube, unrelated but slightly entertaining.

Hola de Chile! Just checking in on the thread. Mike and Teddi, great shots! I love that video on the Gay beach of the puddle crossing as well. Very cool!

Its funny how much I've been putting thought to next year's trip already. One bummer for me on this trip was that I didn't feel like I got to spend enough time meeting everyone. Next year's format will be better for that. Plus hopefully I won't have the SARS again. haha

Hola, how do you like Chile? Have you tried their hampster or is it gerbils buffet yet? No, not me but my sister-in-law tried it. I hope you are feeling better! Have fun and have a safe trip.

I don't think I met everybody this year. Next year I would like to take the time to talk to everybody. Already looking forward to it.

UP withdrawals. Yep got 'em too. We can wait to get back up there. I next year I'm going to look into a Kayak or something so I can get into the water more down here. Gotta get into this lake thing.

I hope by then I have an 80 series. I look at them all the time on Craigslist. Who knows, just might pull it off.

I wouldn't mind picking one up either. Luckily the company I work owns Old Town canoes plus Ocean and Necky kayak companies We can get them pretty cheap but its the shipping that is $$. Hopefully there will be s group order next Spring again.

They own Eureka tents too (including the military ones!) but we got 2 Colemans right now.

Chile is great, this is my 5th time here but I've yet to try any rodents. I think you are thinking of guinea pig, but no, not for me. Here's some vid I shot the first day down here...

I love my 80 series to death and really can't think of another vehicle that serves my purposes as well as mine does. Yeah, I dream of a 40 or 70 series Troopy but I tell you, the comfort and competence of the 80's makes it a pretty sweet package. I've been toying with the idea of selling my Tundra and my 80 and picking up a 100 to use as a replacement because I think it would do everything that those two do and simplify the stable a bit. That said though, a built 80 still makes for a pretty decent daily driver. I hear a built 100 is even better though in that capacity. ;)

They did a comparison between the 80 and the 100 in Toyota 4WD Owner a couple issues ago. I believe the 80 Series had the upper hand by just a bit. It was the creature comforts of the 100 Series that was pretty much the plus/minus of it IIRC.

Great video!!!!!!

I'm a coach with the US Women's ski team. Lot of fun but a ton of time away from home, I think I was gone 250 days last year.

Yeah that always seems to be the conclusions bloodily beaten out of threads on mud and ExPo.

Very cool, I guess that would be hard, never being home. Teddi

Never liked the 80 interior, feels cramped to me. I love my 100. Everything I've read says the only weak thing is the front diff. Installing an ARB locker seems to solve that problem. I will probably end up doing that at some point.

Significantly nicer as a daily driver. Faster/more powerful with the same fuel efficiency. Stronger frame. A little heavier. A little wider. Much nicer interior. Much nicer ride on washboard dirt roads with the IFS.
