Usa Venturcraft Trail Blazer Trailer-To trim or not to trim!

I had this trailer for a while and I have been playing with it, I have added some minor modifications to fit my needs.

Before!

After!

I have upgraded the wheels and tires to match the Lexus, so I went from 33"x9.5-15" to 34"x11.5-16" I do not get any rubbing, but one side seems very close to the fender, so I am unsure if I want to just trim the fenders or go down to 32" tires which I really do not want to do, but I do not know if I am going to like the fenders trim.

Also I an going to have the two tone color match the Lexus very soon!

Your thoughts!

raised fenders?

I don't know enough about these trailers, but since you are going to have some paint work done anyway, what about raising the fenders on the side of the trailer?
You would end up with some holes to patch, and need to drill new holes, but you would cover it all at paint time.

Not sure if it is possible, but my $.02

Are you keeping the Pintle hitch?
My guess is your stabilzer jacks are short, what are your plans?
Have you had a chance to weight it?

Yes I am keepinh the Pintle Hitch!

Stabilazers jacks are short, but I use 2 small pieces of wood!

No I have not weight the trailer with the new tires and new cooler fully loaded!

It seems everybody that has this type of trailer has 30 or 31 inch tires!

Maybe 32" would be more realistic!

With the added weight, do you see a need to upgrade the "T" style frame?

Given the torsion axle I see the height/clearance of the tub more important then the size of the tires.

Extend/lift the suspension...bu at least three inches. You hit a pump hard enough you'll rip those fenders right off.

Yes that is my thinking to both comments, so go down to 32"s or 31"s?:sombrero:

Here are some specs off the hankook website.

32"- LT265/75R16 - 10ply - 31.9- 10.8-
31"- LT245/75R16- 10 ply- 30.7- 9.9

After your comments, I have decided to purchase Hankook Dynapro Mt on:

LT235/85/16 - 32.0 -9.5 -10 ply

I hope I am not too much off their original design which it was design to carry 31" tires!

My bfg allterrains on 33-9.5 seem to have worked find, just a little taller then the 32,s.

I will post pictures this weekend!

i'm not sure that tire is small enough.
1 inch in height change is only .5 inch in actual change.
It looks like you need a couple inches to get good clearance.

Trailer original clearance was 17.5" right now with the 34"s is 20.5"

Stepping down to about 18.9"

I considered 235/85/16 for a similar application but the E rating and the weight turned me off.

Have you consider a 7.50 x 16?

If you trailer is using the stock frame/suspension it would be a simple task to gain an inch more of clearance by the use of spacers.
