Waiting on my 3 1/2"- 3" coupler to get in before its plumbed in.

Got the coupler in and hooked up my dash command to see my IAT

Both readings were taken idling at operating temperature, outside air temp for both were about 70 degrees

I remember being kind of shocked the first time I saw the difference in IAT on my ScanGuage while stopped and then after you get some airflow.

Your difference is great.

And a super price to boot.

Thanks! I figured at that price even if the materials were poor, I could theoretically replace it 4-5 times for the same cost as an safari snorkel. I will say that the quality is very good and I was expecting very little for the price of $70. If your mechanically competent and willing to take a risk, there is no reason not to do this

Mine just showed up today! I have to agree the quality of the tube itself is very nice for what we paid. All of my hardware actually fit properly as well. For $70 it was well worth it.

Ok, my next project will most likely be a dual battery system. I've been looking into the IBS system and the Bluesea ACR, can anyone tell me more of their experiences with either of these? I'll be eventually adding a auxiliary fuse box and switch panel as well

I have the blue sea 7622 ACR, love it. Very simple and effective, easy to override in either direction or leave the switch in auto. 500 amp continuous rating for winching, jump starting, high output alternator etc.

So I thought I'd update my build thread, I'm currently building a set of sliders. I'm using 3"x3" angle iron welded to the frame into 6" extension pieces of 2"x2" square tubing tied into a 80" long piece of 2"x2" square tubing. I'll then bend up some 1.75" HREW tubing and eventually end up with a set of sliders

Now the pictures :

The 6" extension pieces, angle iron and 2 80" inner tubes with the ends cut at a 45 degree angle.

The extensions tubes tacked into place on the angle iron, I also plated the ends of the 80" tubes and ground down the welds

Got both sides welded together and putting them on now

My little welder hates life and needs some cool down time, oh well cold beers for me

A little Lincoln 110v (forget which model, I've had it for probably 7 years now) it's getting up there in age. I noticed it was getting temperamental when I did a solid axle swap a while back. It about time to retire it.
