Not really the best pics but you kinda get the idea from these:

Excelsior!
Any ideas on where I could get a VSS (vehicle speed sensor) for Vortec mated to FJ60 transfercase. Downey Off Road had the cool set up but they closed before I could buy them.

Dang. I did not know Downey was out of business. I still have their Bilstein-based coilovers up front on my 4Runner.

It looks like I mounted my tcase just like you did, i like the way you fabed the engine mounts, I'm tempted to change mine to look like yours. The engine is not in yet and I have to buy a die for the bender as well. What engine are you using and are you using the 4 speed FJ60 transmission as well? I have two projects, one with a 96 Vortec V6 and the other with 2001 Vortec V8 both with FJ60 4 speed trans and tcases. I just bought two VSS from Downey, Tojo now. I see you used a different set-up but I have the other now.

The project was a small block TBI 350 to 700R4 to splitcase. The 700R4 is the GM 4speed auto. The actual motormounts are 69 camaro mounts and the xmember is from Total Performance Inc.This is the motormount kit. They've changed it a little but it's basically exactly what I used. For the money, in my opinion, it can't be beat. You can buy the Camaro motor mounts for $15 at any parts counter across the US. Hell mine are Autozone lifetime warranty mounts so I can always get them replaced for nothing. And at that price I can carry a spare pair for out of the US travels and replace bad ones for free when I get home.

The other choices I found for motor mounts just didn't appeal to me. AA mounts are GARBAGE as far as I'm concerened. I've had nothing but problems with the ones in my 40 and have replaced them with my own poly busings.

If you have any more questions just LMK.

Thought you might be interested in this, Advance Adapters just sent this out to all their dealers

"Advance Adapters has always had a good standing relationship with Downey Off Road and we're sorry to hear that the have closed their doors. For those of you that have used their adapter products before, we just wanted to let you know that we have recently acquired the drivetrain adapter tooling and inventory for the Toyota Land Cruisers and Toyota Pickups. We plan on adding these products to our current product line.

We do have some stock on these adapters if you or any of your customers have any needs; and we are planning on manufacturing any components that we're missing to offer these adapter kits.

Additional products that we obtained from Downey included the VSS kits for the Toyota L/C and Pickup transfer cases, as well as the cable kits for the electric lock Toyota axles."
