Warn 8274 installed and I love it!

Picked up a used warn 8274 a few months ago at a yard sale and have been tripping over it for since. I bought 125' of 3/8" cable and a hook since the stuff that was on there looked questionable. I wasn't sure what I was going to do for a front bumper until I came across a used ARB front bumper. After I modified the mounts and got it as close as possible, here is what it looks like! Let me know if you think the cable looks properly spooled on for the first time too. Now I have to figure out what i am going to do to help with the weight in the front. . .

Man, your 60 is looking great with the ARB/Winch! Did you also just Line "X" / Rhinoline the lower panels, don't remember seeing that before? Also thinking those mirrors look more like ones from a 62 minus the chrome?

Yes
Yes
and Thanks!

The mirrors are 62 series mirrors that I blacked out. The rockers are Herculined that I applied myself. I'm not done with that yet though, I am going to modify the rear rockers and continue over the wheel wells.

Is it the angle or is the front leaf almost flat? Was it that way prior to adding the ARB/Warn? The truck looks fantastic. I assume you can add a leaf or have a new set made to handle the increased weight up front.

Nice Score....

Nice score on the 8274. I always wanted one - they just look right between the front wings of a Series Land Rover. The fact you can change the oil is a nice plus given usage. I ended up with a used M8000 which is long overdue for a strip and grease.

Looks good and snug in that ARB as well....

Ya I think I am going to add some leafs to the front. I don't want it any taller but I have to have more arch in the springs. Eventually I am going to get some nice Alcans or something made up for the front, but that is later.

Hopefully we see you up there this weekend Dan, I think we are heading in saturDAY sometime time. I think we are going to continue up hwy 4 and maybe loop around and hit up Barney Riley too.

Thanks for the props guys!

Do you guys think the cable looks wounds on properly for the first time? Warn recomends putting 500 lbs. or resistance on for new cable, by the way a 92 toyota pickup works perfect :roost:

Looks great Dylan. Another vehicle is all I ever used when spooling my cable in. I usually tried to find a small incline to pull the other vehicle up, so that the deadweight vehicle wouldn't start to roll toward me. Just make sure your vehicle isn't going to go anywhere.

looks beautiful Dylan. looking at it makes me want a 60 series :cow:

Did you paint the arb, it looks like it has a satin finish on it? I like it.

Nice rig!!!

nice rig -love the look of the winch/arb combo.
I have found the way to spool your winch cable was to hook the cable to a tree, set the parking brake slightly and put the vehicle in neutral, the parking brake will put some drag so the vehicle will not overrun the spooling pace.

Thanks guys,

It sounds like the cable is ready to rock and roll. I did paint the ARB with some flat black paint, I think it was Lawson High Solids. I am happy with the winch so far, I haven't done any real world testing but it does have tremendous power and speed.
