The previously listed bags are all great. I spent 21 years in the USAF and one of the perks of that vocation is that I was issued a couple of extremely durable duffels. The name is "flyers kit bag", I can no longer find the NSN stamp (sorry). They are a large cordura type fabric, single compartment with heavy duty zipper and a snapped flap. The handles are 2 inch wide seatbelt type nylon straps that double under the body of the duffle. Size is what could be classed as large capacity. As prevalant as these things are in the military, sourcing one at an Army Navy store or yard sale should be easy. I do recall seeing them available from a camping retailer in the $30 range. Best bang for the buck ever. I encourage everyone to investigate this as a possible solution. These things will not win a beauty contest (OD green) but are as close to industructable as can be found anywhere. I find them to have utility in any number of applications, hauling clothes, camping gear, recovery gear etc.

My wife wanted some of these Mountainsmith bags in the smaller size to pack our small clothes stuff. The bottom on these bags have a rubber sole like a shoe, (it is HD for sure) I am impressed. The little pockets inside and extra little clips are well thought out and seem user friendly. I will let you know how they hold up..

The bags will stay inside my steel Tuffy box most of the time and the rectangle sturdy bottoms almost lock together when lined up, they are grippy.....

I have Filson bags. A duffel in large size, and a two suiter zip open. They are beyond durable. The duffel has been my travel bag for years. The two suiter is only about 8 years old. They go in the trailer, LC, airplanes, boats and horseback.

Good and tough, with quality components.

For our clothes and sleeping gear we are currently ussing a combination of different dry bags from MEC. Our clothes bag is a back pack dry bag. the rest of the gear is in Action Packer or pelican cases.

I have 2 lost creek bags. A small one for towstraps, chocker chain, shackles. and a larger one for clothes. These bags are indestructable. They have several points to make them easy to lash down in my open jeep.

I have been using a 22" long canvas type duffel that use to be my fathers.
I estimate it to be about 30 years or more old.

I have had it for about 18 years.
It has been on many camping trips in the past.

However I have been wanting a bigger one (around 30" long) and I jut ordered a Cabela's Ripcord Duffel in green, and the large size.
I am hoping 30" is not to big.
It should be here next week.

Comes in many colors too.

I also have Filson products for hunting, and they are truly exceptional, but for camp gear...I would recommend Duluthpack.com (not sure how to make a hyperlink)..they use extremely durable canvas, and are made in the USA. They've been making canoe packs since 1882, and I've had their packs/bags for years, they just keep getting better. Also have a nice selection of sizes.

I bought the Red Oxx Safari Beanos PR 6 a couple of months ago and am really liking it. Great attention to detail, very durable and Made in the USA. I was going to see how it holds up over the next several months and maybe recommend it to the Overland Journal staff as a possibility for the next gear issue if they showcase bags again.

I got the the 30" Cabela's Ripcord bag last week.
I am not that impressed with it.

It has a soft bottom, no floor in it to speak like my ancient bag I have been using.
There is one outside pocket, but none inside to organize sock, undies, ect like my old bag.

This Ripcord one is made in China.
I have not stuffed it yet to see how it holds clothes, but so far I am not super impressed with it.

The bag that Bighead posted looks very nice.
I may continue to use my old bag.
It is made by Allyn Saint George.
