I am going to Pismo the end of this month to see how the truck handles at high speeds. Play with the shocks a bit and try to get everything dialed in.
I am going to look around for a bed rack. I want a low profile one. Like about 4 inches above the bed rail.
I don't know how to weld or anything.Right on, I've been meaning to get up there but time has been short.
I may have a lead on a tube bender I can use, want to make one?
You need a lightbar and some lights!
Is your truck going to be romping in all sorts of conditions (aka trails, high speed, mountains, desert)? Knowing where you'll be taking the truck will help with what you need. For instance, if you're out romping at pismo a lot, I wouldn't suggest adding a winch to the truck.
...But, for your next step, I would recommend:
-Bumpers (for recovery points and winch)
-Sliders (I know you're on 37's, but needed on LWB vehicles. Give you jacking points for a hi-lift... nerf bars will not cut it)
My $.02
I just want to keep the front end light as possible.
I have four 8" pro comp driving lights. I just need a light bar. I am going to be all over the place. High speed in the desert, romping in pismo, and taking it slow on the trails. I don't plan on a winch up front, but I am thinking of some kind of removable bed rack. I would like to keep the rack low profile similar to Trump's pictures above. My tire mount is in my bed, so the tire wouldn't be mounted so high, but I like the fuel storage setup. I would probably mount it a little closer to the cab too.
Not with that Cummins. :ylsmoke:
(You made be chuckle a little)
LOL! No Kidding huh! The only bumpers I like are the fab four or road armour type. I hear those are close to 160lbs. I guess it is not that much, but I don't really need one when I already have tow hooks. I live in SoCal so I probably am not going to be hitting a cow or anything. Lastly, I cannot justify spending $1500 on a bumper that I really don't need.
How about a Buckstop bumper and an Aerotank 60 gallon replacement tank. Kill anything in your path and extend your range to about 900 miles. Thats what I just put on my Dodge.
