Where does everyone hide a second key?

I'm looking for recomendations on how to store a spare key on my truck that wont get rattled off and lost while off roading. What is everyone else doing?

Used to use one of those strong magnetic key boxes way up under the bumper of my 80-series Cruiser and it worked well (never fell off and no one else ever found it) but I don't use anything like that now - I just keep a spare in a different pocket or give it to my passenger to keep.

I have always kept a spare in my wallet.
I do not trust one on the rig, to easy for a thief to find it.

Shave down the sides of the key (the part you hold obviously) to make it thinner and tape it somewhere along your wiring harness with electrical tape. I'm not as worried about someone stealing my truck as I am having them smash the window and steal my stereo.

I had one vehicle that the PO had zip-tied a spare set between the the grill and radiator but accessible from underneath with the hood closed. He apparently forgot them as I found them while doing some maintenance after I'd had it a while.

I'm pretty surprised anyone would post where they keep their spare key, since with a little searching anyone on the net with criminal intent could find what city you are in and probably what your vehicle looks like. I'd caution anyone on what they put on the net. There's a lot of lurkers out there.

As it is, it's already pretty risky to post everything we keep in our vehicles on a regular basis.

I guess it depends on where you live for sure; where I live, I rarely if ever lock any of my vehicles.

I keep my spare key secured in a lock box attached to the side of my truck in plain view. If you want to see it, be careful when opening it; the lid sticks a little.

If your key is the type with the built in fob, buy the smallest otterbox they make. 100% waterproof. Wrap the key in a paper towel so it doesnt rattle, then use your imagination.
