Where I mounted my Phone and USB charge ports

Thought I might share what I’ve done for mounting my phone and charging it in my Jeep. I currently have a Samsung Galixcy s5 phone that when using multiple apps along with GPS it drains the battery if not plugged into a usb port with high output. To solve this I purchased the Blue Sea Systems Fast charge Dual usb charger switch mount. I mounted this in a Rugged Ridge A-Pillar 4 switch Pod. To hold the phone in the driver side conner I ordered the JK Ram A-pillar Ball Mount from Carolina Metal Masters, and then from RAM mount the X-Grip that would fit my phone. Now for me this is working great, the only thing that took any real time was getting the A-Pillar from rugged ridge to fit like the factory original did, took a little bit of pushing, pulling, and making sure the platic trim screw was all inplace. For the power to the USB ports I created a cable with 2 wires, one positive, one negitive, and taped into the 12v accesory port left of the radio. The Blue wire with white stripe was the positive, the black wire with white strip was negitive. I used this for my power source so when the jeep was not running these USB ports were not powered.

Looks nice. I made my own out of 1/4" conduit and 2 conduit hangers. Got a A-Pillar trim piece from the junkyard and just mounted it to the A-pillar. Then ordered a handlebar mount for a bike for my phone.

Here is the mount itself: http://www.amazon.com/Roam-Co-Pilot...&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
I need to find a pic or take a pic of the mounting point on the a pillar. Let me know how it does. I plan to install a charger that will reach the phone up under the dash as well.

Love to see your setup, I spent a lot of time, online, looking at were others mounted their phones, and that is what worked for me. Next is to pull the rear speaker bar down and find a better place to put a RAM ball then mounted on the freedom top hand screw and where to place more USB charge ports. I used that to mount the tablet for my 3 year old.

There it is mounted. It seems very sturdy, and has a rubber wrap around thing that holds it even tighter, I'll get a pic of it with the phone in it when I have a camera around....besides my phone, lol.
