Which winch bumper and why?

So I finally sold my old Offroad truck (Long travel Avalanche) and have some money to do the things I want to the 2012 DCSB TRDOR Taco. I had been set on the ARB bumper but now that its time to drop the coin I want to make the best decision possible based on information from users. Demello and All-Pro are close to me so those are the others I'm entertaining. I would like to hear from people who have any of the three above and what they like about theirs and what they don't if possible.

I will be using a Warn VR8000 winch in the bumper.

Reason I was drawn to the ARB immediately was that my airbags work with it and I do use this as my primary driver where I commute 60 miles each way and have kids who ride in my truck.

How do they compare in weight to each other etc.

Edit: I've done a ton of reading and everyone always states in their build threads they picked this one but not why or how they like me and I did search but didn't find what I was looking form

Well after some extensive reading on tacomaworld it appears the airbags work with any bumper. Since the sensors are in the frame not the bumper. So with that said I think I'm gonna go with the new AllPro APEX bumper. I like how it looks they have a good sale goin on right now and if I buy my sliders and a few other things from them the discount is nice. They are local so no shipping costs.

Guess its about time I started my build thread.

Yes, airbags support and bumpers are unrelated.

AllPro has always been a superb company with great products in my experience. Probably a good call on your part.

Shrockworks has a group but going on T4r.org, 10% off. Their font bumper is sweet

TJM also makes a good bumper and I think they have a facility in Corona you could pick up from

Why is it the best?

Because he has one. :coffeedrink:

In reality they are all good quality. I think the allpro one looks good. If you can do an allpro package and save some $ that would be a great option. Shrockworks is nice, but they are a 4 month wait.

Some think the ARB looks bulky. I actually like the ARB and was considering one and getting it color-matched.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Buy the bumper, sliders and some under carriage armor get that 15% off they are offering. Unless anyone knows a reason not to go All Pro ill be giving them a call Monday.

Relentless also offers one in aluminum (horribly back ordered), I think it was brute force offers one too didn't care for the looks of theirs or alluminess but was definitely something I thought of. Especially since I travel 61 miles each way for work.

The guy that built my avalanche is going to start making aluminum plate bumpers but his timelines get really skewed so I'm not letting him pull the bumper off my truck to build one. My poor avalanche sat for over a year waiting on a small job (new aluminum dash) to be done.

I have an 07 FJ cruiser on 33's with the Ironman Constant Load suspension. To save on weight, I have a pre-runner type front bumper, and I have an aussie style hand winch (not a come-along, think black rat) with shackles up front, rear, and soft shackles to pull from the sliders.

Don't dismiss a lightweight non-winch front bumper, and a good recovery kit. I can winch from any spot on the truck, at all kinds of angles. what would you do for a rear pull if you were by yourself?

Another vote for Pelfreybilt. The welds on their bumpers are gorgeous and they're able to do custom work to the way you like it. Also, partially cause I don't think CBI has released a bumper for the 2012 yet, but they did a custom one, and it looks great.

pre-2012 tacoma, but he has some great pictures of the bumper and welds.
