Which winch bumper and why?

My reasoning behind the ARB bumper is simple. Strong, engineered (SRS compatible) and in stock. I was looking at Shrockworks and Demello before I purchased my ARB bumper. Cost was about the same plus or minus $100. ARB was in stock in Seattle and I received it in a week and a half. Demello was 4-6 weeks away and Shrockworks probably at least 6 months.

I really like the install on the ARB. It was simple, well integrated and the fit is perfect. I'm sure the other bumpers are just as good. I just hate paying for something and waiting months to actually enjoy it.

Like you, I commute to work all week and go play in the trails on the weekend with the kids.

PS: I hit a dirt/rock wall yesterday and it made me happy to be protected.

X2. This exactly why I'm leaning towards an ARB

Right now Shrockworks has a 10% off group buy going over on T4R.org. I believe somebody posted a link somewhere in here. They're guaranteeing delivery within 4 months.

Or, do like I have in the past and Google "Free ARB Shipping". http://www.autoanything.com/grille-guards/75A5773A0A0.aspx Sometimes it's better to spend a few extra dollars if you can get it shipped for free.

My biggest hang up on the ARB bumper is how it doesnt really fit the 2012. You have to cut up your OEM bumper to use as a valance. So its not simple bolt and go, you cant sell off the OEM bumper cap to help with cost of new plate bumper. As for shipping cost on ARB bumper, thats not an issue as I could just walk in my local 4wheelparts and buy one.

Just ordered the Apex 2012 bumper with center hoop and light hoops plus IFS and T-Case skid and sliders. I saved roughly $340 with their sale (15% off) going on.

They quoted 2 weeks on everything with powder coat.

Well after some extensive reading on tacomaworld it appears the airbags work with any bumper. Since the sensors are in the frame not the bumper. So with that said I think I'm gonna go with the new AllPro APEX bumper. I like how it looks they have a good sale goin on right now and if I buy my sliders and a few other things from them the discount is nice. They are local so no shipping costs.

Guess its about time I started my build thread.

The wait on a lot of these bumpers is just too long. ARB is pretty good about keeping things in stock.
