who mog got bounced around

I don't think wind had anything to do with it. I think it was to much weight for that trailer.

That would have been a scary ride!

Looks like a tie-down rope flapping around off the top left rear corner of the mog.

Holy crap! That is a scary situation.

Its too bad that little piece of paper on the dash blocked most of the view, but it looks like the 'Mog is bouncing around on the trailer.

I have transported lots of 'Mogs in the last few years, and it is VERY important to strap down not only the axles, but the box as well. It doesn't matter as much if its a flatbed/troop bed, but a T/VLF or ESPECIALLY a radio box can have a LOT of movement and it could turn into a pendulum effect, as demonstrated by this video.

This truck looks particularly top heavy as well, definitely could have ended very bad.

I watched the video a few times, hard to tell if its a soft top with a custom enclosure, or a hard cab with some kind of raised roof. Haven't seen that particular truck before, seems as if it would stand out.

Anyone know where the video was shot?

when i used to carry radio mogs for the aussie army we'd chain them down at 6 points, then pass chain up to the top of the pods front and rear (they had shipping container points)....

but then we werent highway driving either!

That to me looks like too light of a tow vehicle to be handling that kind of weight, and the weight may or may not be positioned correctly on the trailer. He could also be going too fast for the tow vehicle, trailer, and weight. I would NEVER carry a load like that with a pickup that light. I recall that my Dad never did have a problem hauling backhoes and D2-size tractors on heavy-duty trailers behind heavy-duty half-ton pickup trucks. Usually the trucks were loaded down with thousands of pounds of tools, welding machines, and oxy/acetylene torches as required for oil field work. I'd be pulling that yellow truck with a tractor, no less than that!

Wow... i've had that happen on a much smaller scale when the trailer isn't balanced properly. I bet the driver was white knuckled for sure. Glad to see it didn't fly off the trailer.

iv had it happen with a mud truck, except slightly differnt, the load was too heavy for my tahoe and i went around a corner and the trailer started to sway back and fourth very violently

man that looks scary. It looks like it was very close to coming off if not just breaking the straps.

Looks like he started swerving into the far right lane and then over corrected the truck. He's really lucky though that it didn't pull him over the bridge and down to the water. That's a very very fall drop haha.

It could have been a F350 SRW which would be within the manufacture towing specs, but it appears that there's only a single strap over the box that failed. Improperly securing the load with a single strap is dangerous and lazy. The strap was flapping on both side of the box.
A goose neck HD trailer would have helped not push it between two lanes.
