Winch mount options - corrosive winter conditions

I would spend the coin and get an ARB bumper. Having the spool inaccessible is a recipe to replacing your winch line after every use (or should be). Guaranteed to kink and bind. When you really need it the most the steel wire rope will break on you (refer to being kinked) and be a hazard as it is slicing through the air. One way to avoid this is to use a synthetic rope. They are lighter and not as dangerous when they break. You will still need to properly spool them back on so they don't bind up and require brute force to free up. A spool that is accessible is the way to go if you plan on using it. If its for show then disregard everything I said.

I have a lot of better things to do with my time and money than install a winch for show. I would definitely use synthetic line here so from what others have said it shouldn't be too much of an issue with the spooling. I have an rte bumper and warn 9.5 ti on my classic that I use for heavy duty wheeling with my local club, etc. I frequently use it and need protection of the full bumper.

LThe setup on my lr3 which is also my daily driver that I bring clients out in, park In a parking garage, etc, will be a more of an emergency setup. Things like driving into my camp on a Friday night if the driveway hasn't been plowed, or accessing some upland bird hunting spots with no other vehicles around and getting high centered in some soft ground- stuff that has yet to be an issue and probably won't be very frequently if ever, but could leave me stranded. Will also look to do some of the Vermont overland trips with this vehicle at some point (not the trophy competition though).

You will be fine with this setup. All of the VO trips except the Trophy are do-able with that. Just make sure you have sliders.
