Do it!

Use regular battery for everyday stuff, and a deep cycle on an isolator when you really need the amps. I have a red top / Vision X combination on a 300 amp fuse and a battery brain gold that has worked well for me!

Finished installing my new smittybilt xrc8 on friday nite. I had to modify the mounting plate of the solenoid box in order to mount it on the bumper. Used it this morning in WV and was very happy. I've heard alot of reviews about them being slow but it was every bit as fast as my buddys superwinch. Thanks for all the advice guys and a big thanks to flyndrive for helping me mount it on thursday(hope your shoulders ok and happy b-day bud).

Update

Washed my truck today and thought I'd take a few pics of her clean with my new winch

I picked up another stock battery at work to take on trips(just in case).

i run a stock size battery and a warn 12000lb heavy wieght sierse acasional use and plent of time to let the battery recharge havent had any trouble
