This one is worth more because it has less options...

Yeah, we are an odd bunch ;)

For me, it is about simplicity=reliability

Just like my Discovery, which has NO options other than aluminum wheels. No sunroof, no automatic trans, no rear a/c, no CD players or heated seats, no leather or power seats, etc.

Like the comments above, sometimes less is more. I had to look very hard to find a new White 4Runner with a V8 but no sunroof, extra side air-bags, or 17-18-in wheels, etc. Found her, got married, and love her dearly. Spent all afternoon and evening yesterday on my back loving her.

I don't know if the 4Runner sunroofs have the same issues, but there is more headroom without one, which I prefer.

If you open the sunroof the headroom is limitless!! :D I love sunroofs and miss the one in our old vehicle.

Yeah, for me I think the sunroof is one of the best parts about my 80. There is no way I'd want to go without one. The visibility out of it, the open air feeling, and the ability to climb up to the roof from it, all make it a sweet option. Mines never leaked, nor let me down. For me visibility is huge and the difference having the shade drawn on the sunroof to having it open is huge. Makes the whole environment much more airy up front. I love simplicity as much as the next guy but the sunroof is too sweet to go without in an 80 IMHO. To each his own.:D

I paid a premium for my 97 LC when I purchased it. It also had low miles, 42K, so I was willing to pay the premium. I say take what you can get with in the budget you have...then go from there. The kicker for me is lockers and low miles...mine didn't have the lockers, has ARB's now.
