WTB - Gen 2.5 Montero

Here's another Montero that probably isn't what you want, it's a Gen 3 I think but I have a really hard time believing it needs "bearings" if it was otherwise well-maintained: https://goldcountry.craigslist.org/cto/d/pioneer-2001-mitsubishi-montero-limited/7158247538.html

I would put my money (currently 2 cents and pocket lint) on it having thrown timing due to bad tensioner or belt and the valve train throwing ungodly clatter. The $1450 price is certainly more appealing for a project truck.

That one has definitely caught my eye, if it does need a headgasket that seems priced pretty dang high.
He says that coolant fills the over flow. It most likely just needs a radiator cap because the spring has gone bad. If it were a head gasket there would be more signs like coolant in the oil, and overheating. Although the temp gauges on these trucks are basically an on/off switch.

Flying to SF without nothing but a radiator cap and a change of clothes would make for an interesting adventure.
