Simon from X-Eng came over to join us on the Easter Expedition and he offered special pricing for a group buy on his X-Brake: http://www.lucky8llc.com/Products.aspx?ProductID=2089

This what Jonathan had to say after seeing the brake in action on the trip.
"I was very impressed with one of the trucks that had one installed and very unimpressed with my stock drum brake, especially on very steep hills."

We need to get 10 people on board and the price will be $378 plus shipping. So if you want one, you can PM me or call us at Lucky8 (716)898-8153

Having experienced the X brake this side of the pond, I cannot speak highly enough of them,
they do what they say they will do,

Maybe I'm not hardcore enough but have never had a problem with the handbrake in my D2 on hills. Is this a problem on other models , or do I not brake on big enough hills

What is it? Perhaps more people will be interested if there is some information posted about the product.

It is an E Brake conversion kit. The stock Rover until 2004 used a drum brake on the Tcase. When the drum is working they work great but the Tcase tends to leak diff fluid into drum. This not a good thing to find out when you need the brake.

Like all upgrades, you dont need them until you need them.

On older trucks this is a great upgrade. I had a 94 disco prior to my 130, the disco brake held ok but my 130 brake is crap, the X Brake would, will be a great and useful upgrade.

Superb bit of kit. I've fitted them to my last three vehicles. I hear what Kellymoe is saying but nothing beats the feeling of not having to strip. clean and re-build that blessed drum handbrake again.

Simon X-eng Rafferty is also a top bloke. Not only a genius at design and implementation but a truly nice person. His only drawback is he is just too damn tall

I take it your truck never gets into mud and deep water? the mud stops the drum working properly.
